Worship Time / Location

10:45am – Holy Communion - We celebrate God's grace and love in Jesus Christ who comes to us through Word and Sacraments. First English celebrates Holy Communion every Sunday.

Our liturgical choir enhances our worship life. The choir serves the proclamation of God’s Word by supporting our worship and enriching it with special anthems. The choir rehearses on Sunday mornings after worship. Our worship of God is enhanced tremendously by our Holtkempt pipe organ installed in 1994.

9:30am – Sunday School - Christian education is an important part of our life at First English. Sacred Scripture and Lutheran confessional teachings serve as the foundation for our learning. Classes are available for all ages.

DIRECTIONS TO FIRST ENGLISH CHURCH

Located in the heart of downtown, Wheeling First English Lutheran Church is easily accessible from I-70.

From I-70 East take the Main Street exit just prior to the Wheeling Tunnels and turn right off the exit ramp onto Main Street. Merge to the left-hand lane and follow Main Street to 16th Street. Follow 16th Street straight through one stoplight. You will see the church on your left.

From I-70 West take the (South Wheeling/Route 2/Moundsville) exit just prior to the Wheeling Tunnels. Follow the exit ramp onto Route 2 and stay in the far right-hand lane. Follow the exit ramp around the curve and up the hill onto 16th Street. Proceed straight through three stoplights. You will see the church on your right.
